Getting married at Crossroads
You are getting married! That is great news.
When you are getting married there are lots of things to arrange and consider. Your church wedding is one of those.
This page will inform you about the role Crossroads can have in your wedding. When you will be married by someone outside Crossroads only part of this information will apply to you.
Planning
Your first point of contact in Crossroads will be an intake. This will give Crossroads the opportunity to get to know a couple before blessing their marriage. It is also a place where you can ask questions about getting married by Crossroads. The initiative for this intake lies with you. For this you can contact weddings@xrds.nl
Speaker
People that have the authority to perform marriages are pastors, elders and certain ministry leaders. We have a list of options which you can look into during your intake. If there is a request for someone else, a proposal will have to be presented to the elders. will refer you back to the office manager (info@xrds.nl) to set up an appointment with the pastor.
Legal documentation
Crossroads is only allowed to marry you when you have already been married by law. Authentic documentation must be presented.
Membership
Crossroads wants to ask all those that are being married by Crossroads to become members of the church. This can be done by attending the Membership Seminar. If you have any questions or objections against this, please discuss this during your intake. To sign up for membership, please contact members@xrds.nl
Marriage Preparation
We expect couples to receive premarital coaching to help build a strong marriage. In the midst of all practical preparations this will help you to focus on “life after the wedding day”. A 12-week course including personal mentoring is offered twice a year. email premarriage@xrds.nl.
Location
Crossroads does not have its own building. Therefore we unfortunately cannot provide you with a location.
Planning the service
Your speaker and worship leader will have a great role in planning the service. However, they are not responsible the complete planning. There might be more people involved in your service like somebody reading scripture or a translator. A service with many people involved is complex. You might therefore consider asking somebody to organise the service and being a contact person for all involved. This is not only for the planning phase, but also helpful on the day itself. When making your planning, keep in mind that some speakers want to do a wedding rehearsal. If you have any further questions regarding getting married at Crossroads, please contact the church office: info@xrds.nl Phone: 020-5451444
